Protects against: Measles, Mumps, and Rubella

How can you help protect your child?

Children should get two doses of MMR vaccine, starting with the first dose at 12 to 15 months of age, and the second dose at 4 through 6 years of age. Teens and adults should also be up to date on their MMR vaccination.

Protects against: A, C, W and Y types of meningococcal disease that can result in meningitis and other serious diseases caused by the meningococcal bacteria.

How can you help protect your child?

Meningococcal vaccination can help protect against infection. Meningococcal vaccines can be offered as part of routine immunization for infants.

There are 4 types of meningitis (meningococcal A, C, W, & Y) of particular importance due to their potential to cause disease in which vaccines are available for.

Protects against: Yellow Fever; a disease causes by mosquitos infected with the Yellow Fever virus.

To be given: At 9 months*

How can you help protect your child?

Mosquito control can also prevent Yellow Fever and is vital in areas where vaccination coverage is low or not available. Mosquito control includes eliminating sites where mosquitoes can breed and killing adult mosquitoes and larvae by using insecticides in areas with high mosquito density. Community involvement through activities such as cleaning household drains and covering water containers where mosquitoes can breed is a very important and effective way to control mosquitoes.

Protects against: Salmonella typhi bacteria that causes typhoid fever

To be given: Between 6 to 9 months

What are the precautions to be taken during vaccination in these times?

  • Visit your Pediatrician with a prior Vaccination appointment only
  • Use an alcohol-based sanitizer at frequent intervals
  • All caretakers and children, except infants should wear a mask
  • Maintain social distancing at all times & avoid surface contacts as much as possible
  • Don’t carry any toys/personal objects and avoid touching door handles
  • Senior citizens (more than 60 years of age) should not accompany the vaccinee
  • Enter, exit & conduct yourself in the Vaccination clinic as per staff’s advice
